  I attended Ribfest with high hopes this year since in previous years it was a fun time for the whole family. This year was a major disappointment. Let's start with the food. I tried several dishes from a few of the vendors and all of it SUCKED! I'm talking the worst ribs, brisket and pulled pork I've ever had. For the prices they charge I was expecting high quality BBQ, what I got was bottom of the barrel crap. The ribs were burnt with more bone than meat, the sauce was lackluster, the brisket was super greasy and the pork was dry. Two thumbs down in the food department for sure!
  Next let's talk about the rides...or lack there of. There were two "rides" for the kids - a slide and a bouncy house (both of which cost $3). I can provide better entertainment for my kids in my own backyard than they had here! What happened to the carnival rides everyone loves?
  To top it off there was a $5 cover charge just to walk in the door, I'm not sure what that entrance fee covered since nothing there was free aside from the music, which may have been the only redeeming factor there. We were there for a few of the bands including Kashmir, Eliminator and 7th Heaven. While I am a huge Zeppelin fan I feel Kashmir fell short of their mark in this show. The band really didn't seem too enthused to be playing there and it showed in their performance. Conversely, Eliminator had an excellent performance from start to finish! From the long beards to the furry guitars these guys nailed ZZ TOP though and through! I'm not a big 7th Heaven fan but they definitely drew the largest crowd and played a wide variety of music catering to virtually every age group.
  If I attend next year it will be solely for the music and I will be eating before I go and probably having a few beers too since they run about $5 each inside.
  LITH Rotary Club if you are reading this you really need to step it up next year.
